August 25th

The last few weeks have been so great! I love having James back and finally reuniting my family. Thank you to all the family and friends who helped us through it.
Sydney has been exploring her world through her tongue. If you hold her for more than 3 minutes you will have a wet shoulder and I am not talking a little dainty wet spot, its a complete soakage. She is also learning to sit up and works her abs out daily. She refuses to roll over, I think she feels like there is no need to roll since her neck, legs and arms are so incredible long she can reach most things. Its a little bit freaky. Her eyes keep getting more blue and we are both wrapped around her little fat rolls.
Kaleb has started school again and likes his teacher, class and friends. He is also declaring his independence and lets me know he "is not a little boy anymore". He has his "posse" that he cruises around the neighborhood with. I love his energy and genuine concern for others. He is a wonderful kid.
James and I took up horseshoe pitching this week. We are horseshoers. I learned all about the sport from a 3 time world champion on youtube. You don't just play horseshoes.. "YOU PITCH SHOES". We decided we are horrible at it still because we don't have the correct uniform. So we are going to go get zip-up one pieces for James and I am going to get a house robe with floral print. You gotta have the right uniform to play!
The dogs seem to like having each other back. They are so naughty when they are together though. Since they have reunited we have: 5 new holes by the fence, chewed up sprinkler head, chewed up towel, stuffing removed from swing cushions, chewed up sandals, and opened 3 bags of grass clippings and scattered them all over the yard again. They are alot of work but we love them. Roz' wound is healing nicely it ended up being a hystocytoma (tumor of the skin). We got a new car too! Well, I got a new car and James got big red. I love it, it is a Subaru legacy wagon. I have been terrible about keeping up with pictures now that James is home. I have to start up again. I will take a bunch this next weekend and post sometime next week. I like to pretend there are a bunch of people just waiting for me to post something.. ha ha
James came home from Oklahoma with a viral infection... no not an STD but I wouldnt be surprised considering the conditions of the apartments he had to live in. Its a virus that affects facial nerves causing temporary (2 weeks to 2 months) of parlysis to one side of the face. Its called Bells Palsy and he has been trying to keep on a happy face, except you can't really tell since one side is always serious. : )
Sydney and I have been sick for about 10 days and I am hoping it is gone before our weekend in Idaho. more to come next week

Info-mercial

I know my son watches too much T.V but this past week it was very obvious I need to curb his TV time. Here is what happened.
Mom: I hate when my bananas go bad
Kaleb: "mom you should use green bags"
MOM: what are green bags
Kaleb: "Because of effenol (he meant ethenol) gas your fruit and vegeables (vegetables) go bad faster. Green bags will make your fruit and vegeables last up to 30 days"
Mom: Really
Kaleb: Yes, already 40,0o0,000 have been sold. And for only 9.95

Then he said... and mom you can redo your flower pots out front with seed and grow
Mom": what is seed and grow
Kaleb: You simply roll out the seed, water, and let nature do the rest
mom: Really
Kaleb: The seed are inside, you can even cut the roll in half and have enough for 25 feet of trimming along your driveway.
Kaleb: All of this for one easy payment of 19.95$

So we are reading alot more books this week!

Just an Update

The past couple weeks have flown by. I have been busy running the house and keeping the kids alive! Here are the highlights: Roz has some sort of tumor on her leg and had surgery yesterday to remove it, My neighborhood had a flash flood this week many of our neighbors had extreme damage to their basements, My brand new bottle of nail envy (20$ nail polish) flew out of my hands and broke all over the kitchen floor... arghhh, Sydney is laughing out loud, Kalebs teeth are growing back in, James is homesick, and I am ready to be done mowing the yard!! School starts Aug 18th for Kaleb, I can't believe the summer is already over. This weeks lesson in church was very inspiring. It was about keeping a loving environment in our homes. I especially needed to hear the part about keeping a calm tone to your voice. I find myself getting angry/annoyed very easily these days. So that is my goal this week.. control my tone! We will see whats happens.

E-Collar

My silly dog Roz recently acquired a battle wound (not sure how she got this) but instead of letting it heal she insists on licking, scratching and biting at it. The once dime size wound is now the size of a quarter and not getting any better. After a long and agonizing night of listening to her pick and nip at her leg I kicked her out of my room. She then in an attempt to get back at me slept and bled all over the couch. I was livid in the morning!! So I went to the store and bought an E-Collar.. it looks like a giant plastic cone that attaches to the dogs collar. It is pretty hilarious. She was even more noisy with this silly thing on because she kept running into objects. She even attempted to get under the bed but could not clear the bed rails. I finally took it off of her and she laid under the bed for the rest of the night.. AHHH I am so fed up with her. OH and last week she ate a maxi pad and I had to pull it out of her hinder. It was sick.

Half-Time

My dear sweet husband just left today after a very short 2 day visit. If distance makes the heart grow fonder than mine is saturated with love.. I miss him very much! We had a great weekend just being together and enjoying the beautiful (and HOT) Utah weather. It was so great to see him enjoying little Sydney. She clung to him very quickly, I am convinced she remembered him. She was flirting with James all weekend, giving her daddy the best she had. The gummy smiles, sweet little coo's, and all her splish splashing in the tub. James and I feel so lucky to have such wonderful kids and a blessed life together. This is the stuff that greatness is made of. I have posted some pictures of the weekend and my only regret is Kaleb wasn't there. I get him back in my arms tomorrow! It has been a long week without my little guy.
