DVD HELP- CHANCE TO WIN BIG

I made a really cute DVD (slideshow) of Sydney's first year, but I need some ideas for music to put with it. James and I picked out a couple Jack Johnson songs but I would love some more suggestions! Give your input please. If your song is selected you will receive a chance to come to my house and watch the DVD on an official 1996 32'' Sanyo TV.

News of the wierd

Pastor Bob Book of the Church of the Common Ground in Atlanta and his wife scrub the feet of three dozen homeless men every Monday, based on the concept of Jesus washing his disciples' feet, with such pedicures including a soak, pumice-rubbing, nail-trimming and massage, topped off by a clean pair of socks. Book says his crusade makes the down-and-out feel more confident, and the "worst ongoing" threat, according to him, is not Satan in men's minds but fungus in their toes. "It eats away and destroys the toenails and just makes it very hard for people to walk." [The State (Columbia, S.C.)-AP, 1-22-09]

I am a little speechless with this story. Kindness comes in all forms.. at least it wasn't a story about someone giving millions of dollars to save stray cats!

Greed

It still amazes and disguests me when I hear stories of the super rich whining about not having enough money. I thought this story took the cake!

Wife divorcing ex-CEO: $43 million not enough
36-year-old Swedish countess says she needs more than $53,000 a week.
....Her weekly expenses also include $700 for limousine service, $4,500 for clothes, $1,000 for hair and skin treatments, $1,500 for restaurants and entertainment, and $8,000 for travel

The reality of this situation is there are people out there who really live like this! I am going to try and post of picture of this women, for 1000$ a week in facials and hair styles she better not have a bump on her skin. **Side note... I found a picture of her, she looks very normal, almost girl next door.

On the other hand ........I would like to believe that if I somehow came into A LOT of money I would not behave this way, but maybe any of us would? I know when I have gotten pay raises I always end up living according to that amount. My point is...maybe she isn't the beast I at first imagined in my head. Still, I will post a picture. Thanks for going to the rounds with me!

Next Question: If you won 1 million dollars what would you do with the money?

Sick ol' baby

Our poor Sydney who has remained toothless for 11 months, has now started getting 2 teeth at once. Of course the result is fever, irritability, and generally just feeling lousy. She ran a fever for 2 days and finally the teeth have popped through. I am happy to say she is now feeling much better. James bought the family tickets to Jazz vs Nuggets on Friday however, I ended up staying home with Sydney but James and Kaleb went and had a great time. I even got a souvenir (compliments of Kaleb) a big foam pink finger. I heard it was the best game so far.. so naturally we are going to another game in April. This one is the Jazz vs. Timberwolves so I will cheer for both and either way I will be happy with the win! On Monday, James didn't work until 3pm so naturally he built a new patio in the back with his spare time. I just love him and all he does for our family. The patio looks great with paver stones and a retaining wall. So far March is coming in like a lion, lets just hope April is a lamb.

Note-worthiness

Another week gone and trying to squeeze some exciting news out of the past 7 days is always a challenge. As mentioned previously, Roz is sick. We have decided to go with a conservative treatment which is more or less just to help ease some of her discomfort.
On a happier note Sydney is now a walker or at the very least a part time walker. She goes further and further each day. Kaleb is loving his karate class and I am searching for something for him to do during the summer. James and I are thinking flag football might be fun for him, since he loves to run and chase.
I cleaned up the backyard this weekend and ended up with 3 bags of dog manure. It was a very nice weekend, however I had to take pictures of the weekend for James since he worked everyday. I hope my little energizer bunny does not wear himself out. We are looking forward to less busy times in the coming months. James' job at the airport is going very well and he continues to get more comfortable with it. I am so proud of him and hope he knows how much he is loved!

Roz

We have had some sad news in our family. Our dog, Roz, has developed lymphosarcoma. We are expecting less than 6 weeks with her and in an attempt to make her comfortable we created a bucket list of sorts for her. Here are some of the ideas so far.

1) One more trip to the mountains and run off her leash

2) Eat an entire pack of bacon

3) Sleep on the bed

4) Lay on my favorite rocking chair

5) Get belly rubbed daily

6) Get a big huge bone to munch on

Here is the question for any of you who read this

What would be on a dogs bucket list?
